Consul General H.E. Yang Yundong was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the 16th Annual Karachi Boat Club(KBC) International Inter-School Rowing Regatta on January 26, 2024.

CG Yang pointed out that China and Pakistan are linked by mountains and rivers, and peoples of both countries are closely connected. Youth exchanges and sports cooperation are an important part of the relationship between the two countries. China's rowing has a long history and participation has been on the rise in recent years. We look forward to seeing the youth of China and Pakistan competing on the same stage in the future, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship through this sport, and contributing to the friendship between China and Pakistan. CG Yang also wished the contestants a splendid performance and success in the competition.

The President of KBC, Mr. Syed Nadeem Ali Kazmi thanked China for its long-term valuable support to the youth, cultural and sports causes in Pakistan, saying that he would like to actively promote more practical cooperation between Pakistan and China in sports and other fields.

KBC was established in 1881 and is one of the most prestigious boat clubs in Pakistan. The 16th Annual KBC International Inter-School Rowing Regatta will have 519 competitors from more than 25 schools competing in 70 events.
