Mr. Li Bijian, Chinese Consul General in Karachi Visited Qasim Port Coal-fired Power Station

On January 4, 2020, Li Bijian, Chinese Consul General in Karachi, visited Port Qasim 1320MW Coal-fired Power Station in Pakistan.Consul General Li visited Qasim power station as well as the coal wharf, and communicated with the company.With the positive views toward the achievement of Qasim Power Station,Consul General Li expressed sincere gratitude and prosperous new year wishes to all staffs from Qasim Power Station.

Port Qasim Coal-fired Power Plant Project is jointly developed by POWERCHINA Resources Limited(51% shares) and AI Mirqab Capital(49% shares),which is one of the Top Priority Energy Projects of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor(CPEC).

The construction comprised of two units with gross capacity of 1,320MW,with an exclusive coal-uploading jetty. The construction work commenced in May 2015 with the 1st unit injecting power to the grid on 10th November,2017, and the whole project reaching COD on 25th April 2018.The average annual energy output of the project is around 9000GWh after its completion, and is expecting to support four million households’ daily power consumption.

Commercial Consul Guo Chunshui, the CEO of Port Qasim Coal-fired Power Plant Company Ltd,Guo Guangling,Vice Consul Li Min, Vice Consul Zhang Hao, Consular Attache Qin Xuqian attended the meeting.
